Walton Park is situated in Abbeyside, Dungarvan. It's noted as an outdoor recreational area with a children's park attached.
Walton Park is dedicated to Ernest Walton - the only Irishman to have won a Nobel Prize in science. He also has a building in WIT named in his honour. Walton was famous for his work in nuclear physics and was one of the first physicists to split the atom.

My husband & I brought our 2 kids (aged 10 & 8) down to do the Greenway. We decided to hire bikes rather than try to squeeze them into the car. I was able to book the bikes online in advance which was great because I knew they'd have bikes for us when we got there (it was bank holiday Monday) helmets are included in the bike hire. The bikes were really excellent quality, gears on adults & kids bikes. Husband decided to hire an electric bike (wimp) and he was delighted with it - very little effort required to zip along. The man in the bike hire shop was very helpful & friendly & had Greenway maps & advice - excellent value & a brilliant way to spend the day
the bike was new and wonderfully free movement on it the greenway was well done and the scenery was excellent cycled over a aquaduct
i had a wonderful time on the greenway in Waterford hire bikes locally from liam - who make sure all was well and happy for us bike excellent
